Best Used Cars

The title of this article may be a little confusing if buying and selling cars is unfamiliar territory to you, but hopefully after reading through it you’ll be able to make more educated decisions when it comes to purchasing your used vehicle. The word “best” is of course a little ambiguous, because after all it is a personal preference which usually drives people when it comes to buying a car. However, there are certain factors which make certain cars more appealing in general on the used market compared with other models.

City Cars – There are several city cars which stand out as ones you really should have a look at. Few can boast better credentials than the Hyundai i10, which offers reliability, strong performance and a decent level of space inside the cabin. Second hand Hyundai i10 models can be bought for as little as £2,000. The Fiat Panda is another car which you can get an excellent deal on. Prices start at less than £1,000 and it is known for its strong durability and reliability.

Superminis – Whether you are looking at the used market, new cars or even lease deals it is tough to find many bad words to say about the Ford Fiesta. There are literally thousands of used models to browse through, and it is a car which has consistently won awards and received critical acclaim throughout its lifetime. The Honda Jazz is well worth consideration too if cabin space is one of your priorities – there’s plenty of room throughout the front and back, while the Kia Rio offers unrivalled warranty.

Family Cars – One of the best all-rounders you can find on the used car market when it comes to family vehicles is the Vauxhall Insignia. There are many engines to choose from, there’s loads of space for passengers inside and you can find some very affordable deals. Similarly with the supermini category it would be foolish not to look at Ford’s offering – the Mondeo. You can pick up second hand Ford Mondeo cars for between £1,000 and £2,000.

Crossovers – There are few crossovers which have been as popular on either the new or used car market since the arrival of the Nissan Qashqai in 2007. It received widespread critical acclaim from the moment it hit the showrooms and offers reliability, durability, cabin space and strong engine performance. If you’re willing to look at models more than five years old you can find some excellent deals. Other cars well worth a look at are the Toyota RAV4 and the Skoda Yeti.
